Membership is
available to anyone with an interest in the education and well-being
of young adolescents. Current membership includes teachers,
administrators, counselors, parents, college students, teacher
educators, and Kentucky Department of Education staff. KMSA is
governed by a Board of Directors composed of elected officers and
regional directors. There are four types of membership. Click on
the buttons above to learn more about each of these memberships.
KMSA supports and promotes middle level education by:

Providing a
statewide network for those interested in middle level
education.

Facilitating
communication among the membership and public.

Sponsoring
various types of forums to share ideas and strategies that are
proven to improve achievement in the middle grades.

Focusing on
middle level education as a distinct entity in the structure of
Kentucky education.

Representing
middle level education in professional and public discussions of
policies and proposed action affecting middle level programs.

Supporting
programs that prepare teachers for the middle grades.

Encouraging
continual professional development of middle grade teachers,
counselors, principals and administrators.

Communicating with the National Middle School Association.
The mission of
Kentucky Middle School
Association is to promote and support middle level education across
the Commonwealth.
